Artist Statement

Hi there,
I’m Sue and I have a studio at Long Eaton Art Rooms. I’m a retired teacher and love running my class for adults with Learning Disabilities - they keep me inspired!
I’ve been creating jewellery for over twenty years, and was fortunate to complete 4 years of silversmithing courses with designer Kate Bajic.
Over the years I have worked with a variety of mediums and love experimenting with unusual materials. As an avid crocheter, I love creating pieces with fine pure silver thread. I am currently working with rubber, felt, semi precious stones and vegetable ivory (Tagua) which is an eco friendly alternative to animal ivory from South America.
