Since 2006 the event has grown to be a major fixture in Derbyshire's calendar. In 2023 almost 210 artists and craftspeople took part in 72 venues across the county.
To promote and support the event, Derbyshire Open Arts produces free, glossy, A5 brochure. Last year the brochure ran to 64 pages. We aim to have a print run of over 20,000, distributed in April and May throughout Derbyshire and into neighbouring counties. The brochure is available both in print and online on our website.
Due to it being a most comprehensive and attractive compilation of artists within Derbyshire, the brochure has a high retention rate among both visitors and arts professionals as an interesting and valuable reference. The brochure reaches libraries, galleries, colleges, tourist information centres, art groups and many more venues, attracting a wide range of audiences with an interest in the arts, crafts and culture, many of whom are themselves artists, including many leisure practitioners.
Our geographical coverage, includes the whole of Derbyshire, Manchester, Stockport, Sheffield, Nottingham and other areas surrounding Derbyshire. Some distribution is via professional box drop distributors and other via a team of volunteers, enabling comprehensive and effective coverage.
