Location: Darley Dale   /  Genre: Paintings and Drawings

Artist Statement

Mark's artistry unveils the beauty of landscapes, architecture and animals.

Captivating pointillist oil paintings depicting scenes from Derbyshire and beyond. Mark is a highly engaging colourist who employs a meticulous technique layering individual dots and dashes of colour to create mesmerising landscapes. Each piece is a testament to his patience, eye for colour and mastery of the technique.

Mark's stunning colour pencil drawings, are where highly detailed realism converges with artistic finesse. A skilful hand developed via a background in graphic art brings animals to life, capturing their essence with intricate detail and lifelike presence. His architectural renderings are predominantly vignettes intended to focus the eye and often have a theme of light, shadow and reflections.

At Derbyshire Open Arts Mark will be exhibiting his original oil paintings alongside a selection of prints and cards showing both paintings and drawings. Mark welcomes enquiries about commissioning a painting or drawing.
