Artist Statement

I enjoy working in stoneware clay and like to combine building techniques. Textures are enhanced by using oxides, slips and glazes.
Often my starting point is to use my sketches, produced when I am out and about to translate into clay. Landscape is a frequent source of inspiration due to its form and the constantly changing effects of weather and light.
I like to experiment and it pleases me when the results produce a happy accident.
