Elaine Lim-Newton

Location: Long Eaton   /  Genre: Ceramic sculpture and homewares

Artist Statement

I create colourful ceramic sculptures and homewares inspired by flower forms, architectural elements and my own East Asian cultural influences.
Each piece is lovingly hand-built from stoneware and porcelain clays, with expressive bright and bold glaze combinations used.

Alongside my own work I specialise in creating public art sculptures in ceramic, metal and wood for a number of Hospitals. Current sculptures can be found at the Royal Hospital Derby, the Queens Hospital in Burton and the City Hospital in Nottingham.

I also share my love of clay through fun and relaxed ceramic sculpture workshops and artists residencies run from my own Signal Box Studio and at schools, hospitals and community venues across the country.

The signal box studio is based at the fantastic Long Eaton Art Rooms community arts centre.
