Artist Statement

I am an Artist and Life Model living and working in Derbyshire, England. My work has been exhibited throughout the U.K and in Baroda, India, and I have been featured on Sky Arts as a participant in Antony Gormley’s project One & Other.

I completed formal training in Fine Art achieving a Bachelor of Arts at University of Sunderland, a Masters in Fine Art, and Professional Post Graduate Teaching Diploma at University of Derby.

I complete authentic work, mostly themed around parental experiences, motherhood, pregnancy, and childbirth. The thesis of my M.A. focussed on loss, creating art works and installations which included painting and drawing, ceramics, and video as a visual interpretation of research, data and personal experience on death and child loss.

I often use photographs as a starting point for creativity, which are worked over and depersonalised with multiple layers of drawing and painting, sometimes becoming abstract.

I use similar techniques on a smaller scale and create painted pieces of wearable art and jewellery.

If you are interested in discussing further; my work for exhibition or purchase, or you would like to commission art or jewellery, please feel free to contact me.
