Artist Statement

Welcome to Story Teller Fine Art
Julia Reid, BA (hons) Photography is an award-winning digital artist and photographer living in the heart of the Peak District National Park.
A Photographer since her early teens, she became a professional in 2003 and has worked across the board for many National Companies as well as teaching photography internationally for many years.

Since closing her busy commercial and portrait studio, she has concentrated on her two passions for inspiration: Nature and the English Canals. She spends her week working from her rural home studio and her narrowboat on the beautiful Peak Forest Canal where she sells Canal Art and crafts as a Licensed Waterways Trader.

Each piece of art starts life as a photograph, and then is worked in the digital darkroom to present you with a stunning picture, that would delight any location.
Her current style could loosely be described as Minimalist Photography, where she focuses on simplicity, and slightly desaturated colours. She concentrates on a subject and its details, on telling a story, and each piece fades to white around the edges, leaving the viewer wondering on what goes on outside the frame… of a story yet to be told.

Julia is also working on a series of hand embellished pieces which will be available as very limited edition framed Fine Art. They are truly something you will be proud to own…

She is happy to take on commissions, so if you would like your home captured as a piece of Fine Art please contact her directly at: [email protected]
