Thread and Clay

Location: Glossop   /  Genre: Embroidery

Artist Statement

We are a dynamic mother-daughter partnership, channelling our collective skills to craft intricate embroidered landscapes inspired by the breathtaking scenery of the Peak District. Our creative journey commenced in 2018 when we decided to pool our talents in textiles and art, working together collaboratively on embroideries and ‘Thread & Clay’ came into being. We chose the Peak District as our inspiration, having worked in many different beautiful locations throughout the Dark and White Peak. The rugged landscapes of the Dark Peak are our favourite and this is shown in our work. Together, we meticulously craft our pieces in various scales, showcasing our work at craft fairs and gallery exhibitions. Our collaborative venture is a harmonious blend of skill, passion, and a unique take on the natural wonders that surround us.
