Application guidelines

Welcome to Derbyshire Open Arts 2024. We’re delighted that you want to join our hugely successful event and look forward to working together to help you showcase your work during Derbyshire’s premier countywide Open Studios event. Please read these introductory notes carefully before starting your application.

The application is spread over 5 sections which you can complete in any order. You can save each section of the form for later submission. As you complete each section, you must press the save button at the bottom of the page before moving on to the next.  The final page is for you to ‘Pay and Submit’ your entry. Your entry will not be accepted until you have submitted and paid by card or PayPal.

Please take time to get your application right before you submit and pay. Any changes that need to be made to your entry after it is submitted will incur a £10 admin charge.

To complete the form you will need to have ready:

Your contact details - The address of the studio or venue where you will be open, your phone and email details, links for website and social media and any shopping platforms you may use.

A brief description of your artwork - Space in the brochure is limited to 30 words. You can add up to 300 words about you and your work for the website listing.

Images of your work for the brochure and website - You will need up to 7 images of your work, which includes one for the brochure. For the Brochure - you will need 1 landscape  image 300dpi. For the website - You will need up to 6 images of any orientation and around 1mb in size. Single images only please - no multiple images within one image, please. 

Public Liability Insurance - You need to ensure that you have appropriate public liability insurance covering our event dates. (The Artists Network, A-N, provide this included with their membership for £38p.a.)

Payment – Finally, once you’ve completed your details, text and images, to complete the application you’ll need to pay by debit, credit card or PayPal. To take part in Derbyshire Open Arts your yearly fee will be £95.00.

Publicising our great event and your brilliant work is a joint responsibility.  The committee of Derbyshire Open Arts will do their best to publicise the event via distribution of the brochure, print and social media, TV, radio and so on.  However, we can't do this on our own.  As a participating artist, you are expected to help in publicising the event and your work in your local area and using your social media contacts.

Your entry fee gives you 1⁄4 page in our brochure, consisting of 1 image, up to 30 words describing your work, your venue address and contact details.
